I have been wanting to try this for quite some time. Taking a plain tea towel and printing custom designs to mix and match with your decor. It's always hard to find a great design without paying a fortune for it. So I figured I could just make them!!!
So here is how I did it.

Step Two: How To
So here is how I did it.
Step One: Supplies
- I purchased a package of 4 white flour sack dish towels from Target. I like these the best becuase they provide a smooth flat surface and are lint free.
- Fabric Paint in your choice of colors
- Scissors, X-Acto Knife or box cutter
- Cardboard
- Paint Brush
- Paper plate to put your paint on
The two paints I used.
The set up on the kitchen table.
Look at this little stamp I made using cardboard and a wine cork!
Step Two: How To
- You can use stamps to stamp a print onto the towel. I made my own out of cardboard.
- You can use objects such as a can for circle prints.
- Another option is to write on the towels like I did below.
Here is the triangle stamped towel. I made little triangle chains for this design. This one was the most time consuming.
Here I used a can to stamp circles onto the towel.
Here is the one where I wrote on the towel for the design.
I had a lot of fun with this project and I am very pleased with the results. Feel free to use old dish towels, old table cloths cut to size or whatever fabric you can find!!! Have fun with it!
